Red's Hot Chicken | Our Story
Nashville's hot chicken crown
Chef Eric "Red" White is a Nashville native and classically trained chef. He opened Red's Hot Chicken on 27th Avenue North on a simple belief: great food doesn't have to be complicated.
The simple philosophy
The simplest dishes deliver the most satisfaction — that conviction runs through every item on the menu, from buttermilk fried tenders to the Hot Chicken Mac and Cheese Crunchwrap.
Years in Nashville kitchens
Chef Red spent 15+ years at acclaimed Nashville kitchens — 1808, Table 3, and Pomodoro East — before perfecting his signature hot chicken recipe.
Critical recognition
The Infatuation rated Red's 9.2 and declared the Nashville hot chicken crown "firmly on Red's head." Food Network named it best food truck in Tennessee; Hot Chicken Week gave it best dish in Nashville.
27th Avenue North
The walk-up shack in Midtown near the Parthenon is where guests choose from five spice levels, all made fresh to order — every plate a reflection of Chef Red's exacting standards.
